This walk is part of the Sunart Oak-Woods. The ancient woodlands are among the last remnants of the extensive temperate rainforests that once grew along the Atlantic coast of Europe. In the First World War they were planted with Sitka spruce and larch, now being replaced. This walk starts at a car park and wends its way through the trees to a newly-built hide overlooking Garbh Eilean. Otters, seals, herons etc can all be seen around the shore of Loch Sunart. There is parking further along the road for disabled visitors, who can reach the hide with a short wheelchair journey.
