Beginning at the point where the B4035 Swalcliffe Road meets Ushercombe View on the way out of Tadmarton, the bridleway is clearly signed, and runs by the side of houses, into fields and pastures. The contours of the land in this area are dramatic and changing, with the rise and fall of hills and valleys. The views from the gated road towards Swalcliffe are magnificent. Swalcliffe itself is very pretty, and the approach to it from this route is heralded by the church tower looking down from its lofty heights. From this village, there begins the return journey to Tadmarton on tracks and bridleways that follow the curves of the hilly landscape, spectacular and naturally beautiful. An easy, cracking little walk.

Could I suggest the following amendment to walk 1164? re grid ref SP389368--should read 'walk up a steep bank to a stile on left(waymarked) and then down to next stile after which follow the hedge on left to the hidden stile(waymarked)in the top left hand corner of the field.' Hope this proves useful Derik Farr
