From the road north of Crickhowell ascend the Tal Trwynau ridge to 2,200 feet, follow the ridge to the saddle at the top of the valley, then take the old coach road (more details in Walk 1287) before following the contours through woods to return to the start.
It can be combined with Walk 1308 for an exhilarating ridge walk with eight miles above 2,000 feet.
