This walk was originally submitted by Brian and Anne Sandland. Walkingworld is very grateful for Sid Marks taking over the walk, June 2021. Walk titles and route directions may have changed since the walk was first published.

Strictly speaking, you will not have completed the circuit of Alton Water (see Walk 3423) unless you also undertake this walk (or a shortened version of it). The walk takes you over land owned by the proprietors of the three halls mentioned. There is pleasant field-walking and woodland paths as well as a stretch beside the lake and country lanes.

An excellent walk with perfect instructions. Just a couple of updates. At waymark 10, the path going half left after the garden boundary is not marked, and there is no path visible. I carried along the left side of the garden boundary to the track and turned right to continue the walk. At waymark 11, the path on the left through the woods just as the path ahead rises, is clearly marked.

Did this walk today (29/06/2015) in lovely sunshine. Footpaths were generally well signed and all but 1 crossfield path had been cleared across the crop. Really enjoyable and varied. Many Thanks Chris Harrison

Completed this walk on 29th May 2012. In the main this walk was well marked and we had no navigational problems with the exception of missing the path at TM 13623 38413. On inspection we found that the path was not marked and a local had to point us in the right direction.

This is yet another wonderful Sandlands walk. It includes some beautiful woodland paths and very little road walking. Thank you again Brian and Anne. Walked and updates entered August 2009. Adrian (Admin)
