An easy walk through several villages in attractive, rural Hertfordshire. This walk demonstrates the clash of ancient and modern cultures as it passes a windmill, a village church dating back to the 12th Century and a fine country house, whilst jets from Luton Airport compete with the skylarks overhead.
There are two pubs en route and two more within striking distance.

What a goodly walk, blessed with fine weather and accompanying planes from nearby Luton Airport. I would like to do this walk again before the crops have been harvested because it would have a totally different feel. One or two corrections: WP1 The signpost says The Heath 3/4 WP4 The steps you encounter are trying to lead you across the field, however there is no evidence of a path whatsoever, so follow the hedge on the left as stated. WP4 When crossing the road onto the footpath, it is more like 250m rather than 50m. WP7 All stiles are now metal kissing gates. The sign no longer says Frogmore 1 1/4. Instead it says Parsonage Farm 310 yards on Footpath 026. The blocking nettles no longer exist. WP9 No sign of electric fence in fact I got lost here, mainly because a belligerent cow decided to stalk me. I followed path across deer park, to gate and turned right to road. At road, I turned left and reached junction and turned left again to rejoin route at church. WP12 No sign of Great Dane!
