From below Corfe Castle, the route ascends the hill to the quaint village of Kingston with its pub and massive village church (a short cut here reduces the walk to eight kilometres and 135 metres total climb but the coast is missed). From Kingston the route continues along West Hill to the views at Houns Tout, descending into Hill Bottom and returning through the village of Corfe and round the base of the castle.

Car parking at the tourist information centre is now limited to 4hrs max. The car park at waymark 3 has no such limitation.

Don't do this walk if it has rained at all in the month prior - it is extremely unpleasant! A good deal of it, especially from waymark 11 onwards, is on paths used by livestock so they are churned into deep liquid mud. Extremely slippery on the inclines! At waymark 2 turn right before exiting the field to the pay car park and then follow the field boundary, keeping it on your left, until reaching the gate mentioned in 3. In 6 pass diagonally to the right through the farm buildings.
