A great half-day walk with fantastic views over the surrounding hills, starts quite high up in the Drumochter Pass so not overly strenuous either. It can be combined with other nearby walks for a longer day out and also provides a very safe hill for practisng winter skills,as there are no major hazards. Wildlife is quite extensive and we saw deer and arctic hares on our walk.

Remember that although quite a short walk, Scottish hills have unpredictable weather, especially in winter and you should always take appropriate clothing and equipment.

Lead free once clear of the farm buildings at Drumochter. Exposure to livestock is variable dependent on the time of year and weather. When we walked the deer were very low on the hills due to snow so my dogs would have needed leads.
