Totteridge - Burtonhole Farm - Folly Farm - The Darlands - Totteridge

This wonderful walk starts at the Orange Tree Inn, built in 1824. Beyond this, you come to the Woodridge National Reserve. Here is a pleasant circular park approximately half a mile long, around the pond which was dug in 1980. This area is home to woodland wildlife.

Carry on to Folly Farm, crossing the gentle Folly Valley between Mill Hill and Totteridge. It has an easy descent and ascent. As you cross the valley you will see farm animals, notably sheep and cows.

It is a nice walk where you can stop and admire the scenic beauty all the while, knowing that you are so close to London (only nine miles away!)

We did this walk on 1st March . The directions were good however the distance of the walk was only 2.4 miles significantly less than detailed. First part of the walk is nice however the middle is dull and there's not much to see. It was also very very muddy...so avoid if its been raining. (Nice coffee shop in Finchley nurseries ).

4/8/2015 - Victoria Belovski

A very pleasant walk, enjoyed by our whole party aged 5 to 50ish. The beginning was more interesting than the end - maybe it might be more fun to do it the other way round (although I appreciate the directions might not be so easy to find). Walking across farmland in the spring was incredibly smelly!!
