The walk climbs up to Cefn Moel, with fine views of Llangorse Lake. Follow the valley of Clarack Brook to Cwmdu before following the old drovers' road back to Tretower. There are fine churches at Cwmdu and Tretower as well as a fine ruined castle at Tretower.

At Point 3, 'Go . . . over a stone slab footbridge . . .' - the footbridge is no longer there! Fortunately it wasn't too hard to cross without getting our feet wet, but after some of the weather we've had in recent months it was probably a lot trickier.

At first, I thought that I had lost all sense of direction when I reached waypoint 4 – the fence and stile, as shown in the photograph, are now (13/06/04) completely hidden by 4-5 feet high undergrowth, nettles and brambles included! Also, the stony track, in the first field and the sunken track, in the second field, are now overgrown with nettles – not a pleasant experience when walking in shorts! However, this problem, after negotiating the stile, can be largely avoided by walking to the left of the two tracks until the second stile is reached.
