Starting at the station in Upminster, you get a chance to browse the shops or pop in a pub before carrying on with the walk. You then enter Upminster Park and from here you follow roads before walking along the delightful path beside the River Ingrebourne. You also get a chance to browse the shops at Elm Park before entering Harrow Lodge park with huge lake and waterside cafe. There is an absolute huge amount of swans on the lake and great views through the park. There is also a brand new leisure centre here with its cafe and toilets which are open to the public. After a few more roads and another park you shortly arrive at Romford with its huge array of indoor and outdoor shops. This is a very enjoyable walk for all.
