This is a great little walk starting from the car park at Villarreal de San Carlos. You follow the green waymarked route to the Bronze Age lookout post of Cerro Gimio, dropping briefly down into the Malvecino Valley. You can then either return by the direct route, gradually descending to the old bridge at Punte de Piedra; or return to the Malvecino Valley and follow the delightful new walkway along the valley floor past a picnic spot, eventually to arrive at the Punte de Piedra as on the higher alternative. From Punte de Piedra the walk climbs a couple of small ridges before returning on a driveable track to Villarreal.
