The walk is based on the picturesque village of Waddington and encompasses several notable features, including Saddle Bridge, a renovated pack-horse bridge, the ancient Bashall Hall and the later Waddow Hall, as well as including a stretch of the River Ribble. It is nowhere difficult and has at most points views to the south with Pendle Hill on the skyline.
