Continuing our journey up the West Devon Way Walk 13 of 15 individual circular walks starts at a right angle bend in Pigs Leg Lane four hundred metres from where Walk 12 left the West Devon Way to return to Lydford. This walk will take you initially through level fields to Sourton where you will pass the Highwayman Inn advertised as Britain's most unusual pub and it certainly is packed with some most unusual things inside. You will then have a gentle ascent up nearly to the top of Sourton Tors to pass a sacred Neolithic pool going over the Granite Way shared walking/cycle track from Lydford to Okehampton on your way up. You will return to the start by going underneath the Granite Way by going under Lake Viaduct. Pick a clear day for there are some splendid views of Devon on the way up. This is only a short walk but you could if you wish continue on with walk 14 (9121) to go around Meldon reservoir or combine it with ref 8813 to do a figure of 8 walk to see Black tor Copse.
