Leaving the pretty village of Walpole, close to Halesworth, the route takes us along a short road section before crossing parkland in front of the imposing and privately owned Heveningham Hall, on to Huntingfield and then by way of a path along an embankment to Cratfield and its pub, a good lunch stop. Farm tracks and field margins return us to Walpole, with a short tarmac lane at the end.

3/20/2014 - Shirley Wild

We did this delightful walk in March 2014. At point 10 the stile is no longer there but just turn left at the end of the wooded area through a hedge gap and immediately right to continue. At point 15 we failed to find the waymark or junction of paths near the house ( Bush Hill farm has undergone some outside building work ) so turned right along the field edge to the farm driveway, right again and left at the road and walked to Cookley via this quiet road, this was no problem.
