The walk leaves the beach dunes car park, down to the beach. We then walk along the beach, north to cross the Carr Rocks, where rock pools can be investigated. We leave the beach following a bridle-path through a private caravan park and across the village golf course. We pass behind the very popular village B&Bs to walk back up the beach road to the car park.

We've just spent several days staying in Warkworth, which is a lovely place. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, which was amazing every day - it only clouded over on the day we were coming home - how fitting! We extended this walk somewhat by walking to the start point from the river front cottage we were staying in, rather than driving to the dunes car park. We did the walk late afternoon when we arrived in Warkworth so it was dark by the time we finished and we managed to take a wrong turn near the end, but still really enjoyed it! Northumberland's beaches are amazing and this one is no exception.
