The Water of Minnoch is a river in all but name, broad, fast-flowing and rock-strewn, the principal watercourse in the area. This ultimate riverside walk in the beautiful Galloway Forest Park visits a much-photographed pack-horse bridge, passes along a section of the Southern Upland Way through lovely deciduous woodland and returns along the riverbank, with fine views of the surrounding hills. Note: in winter or after heavy rain, care must be exercised in the event of flooding and in negotiating slippery rocks or tree-roots; the path is very close to the river in places.

Please note that there are no refreshments available on this walk.
