Buckland Newton is a peaceful village in north Dorset, under the scarp of the Dorset Downs. This short, circular walk through glorious countryside starts at the top of Watts Hill, then descends to the village, offering fine views over the Blackmore Vale. The Gaggle of Geese pub in the village provides a refreshment stop at the halfway point. Wayfinding is easy and paths are generally good, although a short section after Waymark 5 is rather stony underfoot and another short section after Waymark 14 can be rather muddy after wet weather.
