This circular walk offers all the flavours of Exmoor, visits its highest point and provides spectacular views throughout. You will see the south coast of Wales in its entirety on a clear day. There are the heathery heights of Dunkery Beacon and the bottom of an incredibly steep-sided wooded valley along the way. You are almost sure to come across wild Exmoor ponies and you will see the highest and most remote church on the moor.

We did this walk at the end of June 11, and what a walk. The weather was great and once at the top what a view. You could see for miles. Barbara, Jeff, Kathryn & Millie the dog

Did this walk on a clear, sunny and frosty 3/1/2009 and in that weather it was fabulous - one of the nicest walks I've done. As with all of Brian and Anne's routes the instructions are accurate and easy to follow. This is by no means a stroll - at 17km and 1000m elevation gain it's no doddle - but well worth the effort. Will definitely be doing it again!

Completed this route as a run in training for Amsterdam Marathon. First half of route covered open space with great views. Bring your fly repellent for the open ground! Nice long climb up to Dunkery Beacon taking about 26 minutes running. From there on route dropped into nice woods with babbling river. Climb from river back to car park quite fun at end of route. Really recommended this route for views on a sunny day and changes in scenary.
