This is an enjoyable walk beside the River Nar and through Bilney Woods. There is one easy stile and the paths are in good order. The Carpenters Arms at East Winch is open all day and week, midday food is served from 12 to 3pm. There is a good choice on the menu and a friendly welcome from the staff.

Point 1 the start of this walk there is a sign saying Authorised vehicles only. Not sure if we could park there we drove 1/2 mile further on to a sign that said Bilney woods, from here we walked up hill and joined the original path a short while after start of stated rout. Also on last leg from A47 along the lane leading to walk start we saw a way marker post on the right, placed there by the wildlife trust, we turned right onto the path and followed it back to our starting point, (it saved us walking along the road, which we found busy with lorries and cars). This alternative starting point does add 1.25 miles to the walk.

11/4/2013 - Gerald Maddison

Did this walk on 03/11/2013.On leaving point 6, after about 500 yards on the right, we took a public footpath which joined a well waymarked concessionary path/track.When this reached the road, we turned right and the car park was about 200 yards on the right. This cut out going to main road and the long road walk back and made the walk about 6.5 miles. This concessionary path can be found on the DEFRA site as Manor Farm, East Winch B, but does expire in September 2014.
