What a beautiful walk this is following lengthy sections beside the Blackwater and Colne estuaries with amazing views on the Essex island of Mersea. The walk also uses a few field paths and a couple of country lanes to compliment this stunning walk.

You have the option at certain points to walk along the beach or use the costal path or road beside it. Refreshments are never far away with plenty of food outlets, pubs and oyster huts along the costal sections, and a cafe and a pub whilst walking inland.

All paths were clear and signposted (June 2023) apart from two field edges between waymarks 8 and 9 where the path hasn't been maintained, but still passable.
