This is a short walk with two stiles and two short but steep climbs. It starts by following a stretch of canal with a lot of interesting features before crossing fields to a bridleway and a modest peak with an astonishing panoramic view all round. A short descent on a lane is followed by tracks and little alleyways that lead back to the start.

I did this walk in April 2019 and I can assure would-be walkers that there is a well-trodden path. If it really is obscured by 6 foot high nettles then Claire's suggestion could be the answer. Jim Grindle.

At waymark 7, the path through the field is almost jungle-like. I got through but the path was non-existent and I emerged stung head to toe (unwilling to give up!). Suggest going straight on at waymark 7, across playing field, turn right onto road and left up the road described at waymark 9.
