White Hill - Kingston Russell Circle - Grey Mare and her Colts - White Hill

Commencing on White Hill above the village of Abbotsbury, with its historic swannery and sub-tropical gardens, this walk offers stunning views, near 360-degree panoramas across beautiful Dorset countryside and the sea along much of its length and the opportunity to observe a rich variety of flora and fauna. There are no steep ascents or descents, paths are good and wayfinding is easy. Just off the line of the route between Waymarks 15 and 16 can be found the Kingston Russell stone circle and The Grey Mare and her Colts long barrow, Dorset's finest megalithic chambered long barrow. There are two pubs in Abbotsbury, the Swan and Ilchester Arms, plus numerous tea rooms and cafes.
