Starting from the Windmill Hill Nature Reserve in Nuneaton, you'll soon be walking along a lovely bridle-path past open fields and if you're a horse-lover, a number of paddocks. The walk covers some beautiful open country near Caldecote, on its way towards the Weddington Walk, a wonderful area on the site of the defunct Ashby Railway. The last leg is a stroll along the picturesque Coventry Canal. This walk is free from stiles, gates, sheep and cows. It does have one wonderful bonus feature: there are benches along the Weddington Walk! The Windmill Hill Nature Reserve is also a nice spot for a picnic when you're finished, plus, there's something for you geocachers, too.

Pleasant walk which is easy to navigate. Some nice views in particular on the first part of this walk. Not easy to find Windmill Hill Nature Reserve, barely given a mention on any road signs !

This is a very nice walk. It is fairly easy and also easy to navigate. We will hopefully do it again in the summer. Even in February there was no muddy sections. Thanks for submitting this walk. On a side note we were disgusted with the amount of rubbish on the first part of the canal section. There were thousands of beer cans and other rubbish. Some of it was in the actual canal and some on the bank.I'm not sure if this is due to local fisherman, or canal boats dumping their rubbish, or being blown from the nearby refuse tip but it really is a disgrace.
