This walk has so much variety that it does not fit any single category. The interest of the River Deben with its boatyards, sailing clubs, tide mill and a museum is a delightful part of this route. The walk also takes you through the pretty and delightfully interesting small town of Woodbridge with its unique shops and pubs. The rest of the route consists of bridleways, field-paths and quiet country lanes.

There are quite a few food outlets near the station and also at Wisstocks Quay near the end, where you will find a coffee shop, a restaurant plus Woodbridge Museum, which is worth a visit. To visit the working Tide Mill Museum, you need to book.

All paths were clear and well-marked when this walk was first written up (June 2022) so should should make an ideal family day out.
