Woodford - Roding Valley Nature Reserve - Debden

From Woodford Station, the walk takes you upriver along the Roding, a unique green space in East London, through the Roding Valley Meadows Nature Reserve. The meadows were created by drovers taking their cattle to market and it is now an SSSI, excellent for wildlife and wildflowers.

The directions given from Waypoint #1 have the ominous words "As the footbridge referred to in Waymark 4 has been closed indefinitely ...". The good news is that, as at March 2024, the footbridge has been reinstated so walkers can proceed confidently through Waypoints #1-#4 as originally written.
