Starting in the small village of Whitmore, on Woodlands Common, then into Woodlands Village, this walk takes you through the very exclusive Remedy Oak Golf Course with some celebrity members and next to Crane Valley Golf Course with not-so-famous members! Then it's along bridleways with views towards Hampshire, Wiltshire and Horton Commons solar farm. There are a few stiles to negotiate before a stretch along the dismantled West Moors to Salisbury railway line and back onto Horton Common.

I and a group of 5 others walked this in mid-February in a real downpour. Because of it's location the impact of housing, metalled tracks/roads, a golf-course and farms is quite significant. From Waymark 8 onwards, it was very muddy. Please note, that with a few years of raised ground-water levels the field at Waymark 9 is now a marshy bog. Instructions from Waymark 10 to the dismantled railway line are rather difficult to follow; but if you head west to a clump of firs having passed under the electricity wires you will reach the old railway line. Here, do not turn sharp left onto the actual line of the tracks, but bear slightly right, following the Footpath signs before turning left onto a path adjacent to the railway track.
