We enjoyed this walk and if you leave the path and go into the village of Wootton the pub, the Killingworth Castle Inn, is well worth a visit - very friendly staff and excellent food.

Contributor reports that generally the only time one pays is if entry is by main gate and in a car. The grounds are full of public footpaths which are accessed by the number of entrances around the grounds. However strictly speaking the final few hundred yards of this route are not marked as a public footpath. If asked to pay our suggestion would be to politely decline (unless you want to explore the park and house further), backtrack from the Grand Bridge to waypoint 15 and exit the park via the public footpath to the A44.

We thought that these were excellent instructions and enjoyed a lovely walk up until the Great bridge at Blenheim Palace where there was an official parading and wanted us to pay £8 each to walk to the gates and round the outskirts of the palace. We refused to pay and ended up walking though Woodstock nature reserve instead. Aparently people should pay every time although you may be lucky and not be ripped off! A bit of a shame as we were looking forward to having lunch in the picnic area.
