From the Wooler Common car park we follow the bridleway to Wooler Common, then on via footpaths down and past Snitcher Wood into the Careyburn Valley. Here we follow the burn upstream to the Careyburn Linn waterfalls before crossing back over Watch Hill to Wooler Common. This route is ideal as a short winter walk or summer evening walk or as a taster to walking in the hills. There is plenty of scenery and wildlife to enjoy along the way without it being too strenuous.

This walk has an elevation of 700 feet, not 0 feet as stated!! Not quite a gentle riverside stroll. It also takes longer when you have to negotiate head-high wet bracken on a showery summer day. There are some lovely views however.

A really enjoyable walk Such diversity of scenery and terrain. At number 4 the path to the right isnt well defined at all! At number 6 it should be noted that the path alongside the burn requires a little scrambling over rocks.
