Follow this circular walk along footpaths which are not often used and overgrown. This walk is best done in summer when the path through the wood should not be muddy, nor the fields so soggy, and the trees and shrubs will look their best. All of the bridges and stiles are in good order, and although the landscape undulates there are no long steep climbs. You will walk alongside fields of crops and cross over meadows with farm animals in them. In some parts there are no visible paths and you have to find your own route through the scrub. The last section of the walk follows a long length of the Llangollen canal. This walk includes instructions for canal and river boat users.

The walk is probably more suitable for teenagers, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Excellent for dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be boots, especially in winter or after very wet weather. Avoid wearing shorts as you are likely to encounter nettles, and taking some small secateurs would be useful. On your route there are no facilities except at the pub at the start and finish. If you book in advance you should be able to get a good meal with a drink; an excellent finish to a good walk.
