Stage 4 of the Yorkshire Wolds Way starts just before the halfway point of the entire way, in the village of Fridaythorpe. From Fridaythorpe, it's only a few kilometres over to Thixen Dale, (and the village of Thixendale,) which is one of the prettiest stretches of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. From here, it's over into Deep Dale, where we drop into the deserted medieval village of Wharram Percy, owned by English Heritage.

The next stop is Wharram le Street, a possible overnight stop or transport link, being on the B1248 Wetwang to Malton road. The finish to the walk is over to the next valley, and along to North Grimston.

Dog walkers please note that there are a number of dog-unfriendly stiles en route, and areas where livestock may be present.
