A delightful walk around the village of Dufton, taking in the woods in Dufton Ghyll, ancient trackways and a section of Wainwright's Pennine Journey.

Dufton Ghyll Woods are under the management of the Woodland Trust. You will find the occasional post with a plaque dedicated to a woodland sponsor.

The walk takes you to the charming St Cuthbert's Church. There is a bench at the far end of the graveyard which is perfect for a break. The return path is along ancient tracks, some of it the route of Alfred Wainwright's Pennine Bridleway.

Dufton village has a tea shop and a good pub, The Stag Inn, both off the large village green.
