Two Bridges to Lower White Tor Circular Walk

The walk from Two Bridges takes the walker up to the local high tor named Higher White Tor, passing at least three other tors en route.

There are excellent views from the higher points of the surrounding moorland. As with most moorland walks there is relative freedom to walk over wide areas and often there is no discernible track to follow. For these reasons it is very useful for walkers to be able to read and follow compass bearings.

From Higher White Tor, the route descends to Lower White Tor and then back, gradually descending into a valley, to the East Dart River. After crossing a man-made weir where the Devonport Leat commences, the walk then follows the leat as it slowly descends. After a couple of miles of leat-side walking, the route veers off down past a farm and across another river via a bridge, before returning to the main road and to the Two Bridges start point.
