Allenheads - Hangman Hill - Allendale Town - Greenrigg Moor - Hexham: Part 1

This is Part 1 of a 30km walk. This route follows trails used by the old leadminers across the moors between Allenheads and Allendale. Apart from a steep climb from Allenheads at the start of the walk and a number of more gradual and gentler climbs along the Broad Way, it is not a particularly difficult route - however, it can be very boggy even in summer and its length alone means that is can be fairly strenuous.
