The walk is partly to the south of the village, in order to visit the medieval church, but mostly it is across rolling pastures to the north with wide views of the Pennines and in particular, of Ingleborough. I have rated the walk a little high for its length but the number of stone wall-stiles to cross warrants it, as does the fact that there is no trodden path to follow as the area is so little visited. The name of the walk reflects the fact that this village is one of 53 in England and Wales, every one of whose men returned from WWI.

We did this walk at the end of March 2016. Fabulous walk in a little known area, with superb views.. The author informed us that there were many stiles on this route and he wasn't wrong! Therefore it his walk isn't really suitable for dogs. The route was very easy to follow. Angela and Tom
