Arnside and The Fairy Steps

Walkingworld has a number of walks from Arnside and as they are, quite rightly, concentrated on the coast I decided to offer a couple going inland. They are similar, but one means climbing the vertical crack of The Fairy Steps and I found friends who just couldn't do it. This walk takes you straight up them while its companion (7855) avoids them on a longer circuit. On both walks about half is on easy woodland paths and tracks with a lot of wildlife and good signposting.

Great walk Jim, We did it on a very windy day and it was a good option to tackling the higher peaks. We had an alternative start from behind the train station along the edge of the bay and then cutting in on the footpath to meet waypoint 4 (footbridge). All in all very enjoyable! Thanks, Joe
