The walk is from the delightful little hamlet of Bedburn with its duckpond and is mainly through Hamsterley Forest on good tracks and the forestry road, with a little field-walking. The walk travels along a high track at first with some good views over the forest, before passing an old ruined cottage in a clearing with some stone picnic tables. The walk continues on forest tracks, eventually to join the surfaced road through the forest, passing the visitor centre, play area and then across some sheltered pasture to the start.

A great walk. Thoroughly recommend lunch by the beck, at Metcalfe's ruined cottage. The directions provided for this walk are very good and the photographs are pertinent most helpful. I didn't get lost once - and that's a first!
