From the free, National Trust car park, we walk a short section of quiet, wooded, country lane before climbing the wooded slopes of Casonbury Hill to its ancient hill-fort, with extensive panoramic views over the surrounding Cornish countryside. Having walked around the fort area, we descend from the heights through farmland to the river valley, where we return through woodland along the bank of the tranquil river.
