Carnforth, Over and Nether Kellet

The walk has a particular interest in that it is based upon the railway station used in 'Brief Encounter' but it also has its own merits. You soon leave the town by the canal and after a short stretch alongside the M6, beautiful woodlands and ancient, flower-filled hay meadows are crossed before the canal leads back into Carnforth. On a hot day you will want to drop into the pub at Over Kellet, the village shop at Nether Kellet (for ice cream) and even another pub on the canalside for afternoon tea.
