The walk goes eastwards from Clapham to Austwick by a footpath with a number of wall-stiles of very sound construction with excellent views all round. Shortly after leaving Austwick stone tracks are picked up and there is only one more stile, making the going easier and faster. A short detour brings you to the entrance to Ingleborough Cave for a visit or for refreshments in the shop. From there a good track leads downhill past the lake, back to the start in the National Park car park.
