A circular walk following the lead mining trail from the pretty village of Edmundbyers, west of the Derwent Reservoir in County Durham, it crosses Edmundbyers Common and returns past deserted farms to Edmundbyers. Virtually all the route is on clear tracks, but it is very exposed.

Did this walk last week (21/07). Cracking walk with no problem direction finding at all. Sad to see the deserted farms. Thoroughly recommend

My husband and I completed this walk yesterday. Took us four hours. The ruined farm houses were very interesting. We even saw a viper! As well as loads of rabbits, grouse, pheasant and other wildlife. The rainbow on the way back was just the cherry on top.

We've just done this walk today. The common is really beautiful at this time of year, all purple heather and loads of grouse! Very easy to follow route, great views, very quiet and peaceful. Great little walk.
