The walk starts at the Gilpin Bridge Inn and follows a National Cycle Route for a short distance before picking up tracks leading with no great difficulty to Lord's Seat, the high point of Whitbarrow Scar. The tracks are very obvious, there is only one stile (over a stone wall) and the views of the Lakeland fells (to the north) and over Morecambe Bay (to the south)are outstanding. I chose to use this route to lead a group of walkers who wanted to go to the summit by an easy route; others that I have used in the past would have been too difficult.
