Golitha Falls is a famous beauty spot on the edge of Bodmin Moor, where the walker will discover an area of ancient woodlands that sit alongside the River Fowey.
Our walk takes us through beautiful wooded scenery, the river cascading its way through a valley gorge and over a series of cascades into a quiet, tranquil pool at the end of our journey.
The start of the walk is on fairly level ground and is suitable for all; however further along the valley, good boots are advised.
As the walk continues and we begin to relax in nature's peaceful embrace, the walker will begin to notice the benefit of English Nature, which has a 'hands-off' approach to the management of the falls. Evidence of coppicing which reflect previous uses of the wood can be seen, as well as evidence of a more industrial past.
From spring 2016 a new smokehouse kitchen in the car park will be serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, lunches, breakfasts and a pit-smoked BBQ.
