Great Langdale and Blea Tarn

This is a free sample walk but you need to log in as a member of Walkingworld to access the details. Join or log in above if you are already a member.

This is a low-level walk from the New Dungeon Ghyll along the side of the valley, with just one steep climb to reach Blea Tarn, where there is a classic view of the Langdale Pikes. There will always be some serious photographers here, cameras on tripods, waiting for the perfect light. On the return this view will be in front of you all the way back into the valley, making the pull up worthwhile. There is always time for a drink in the shabby but welcoming Hikers' Bar in the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel before an easy finish through fields by the beck.
