A short, but steep, walk from Blackling Hole in Hamsterly Forest. On the southern boundary of the forest, this walk takes you from Blackling Hole up the steep sides of Whisky Gill. Having enjoyed a gentle high-level walk, there is a steep descent back down to the Spurlswood Beck to return to the start.
Although this is a short walk, it is not really suited to anyone who is not sure-footed, due to the steep climb and descent. Having said that, my young son enjoyed the walk, although he was carried for the descent.
It is worth leaving time to enjoy the facilities of the forest - adventure play area, cafe and shop.
