This short walk combines a climb across the slopes of Pen-y-Ghent with a section of the Ribble Way, the Bridge Inn at Helwith Bridge being a convenient halfway point. The climb is not arduous and has the merit of giving wider views than are to be had from the riverbank, including Ingleborough and Whernside to the west and north respectively and Pendle to the south.
