A fairly flat walk around the lanes and fields in the farming area between Darlington and Barnard Castle; the route also passes through five villages.
The walk starts from the very quiet little agricultural village of Killerby. After a little field-walking the route passes through the village of Summerhouse before taking to lanes, farm tracks, fields and a little road-walking to enter the village of Gainford. From here the route heads north along lanes and through fields, followed by a small amount of road-walking to pass through yet another small village, after which pleasant field- and lane-walking the route intersects the larger village of Ingleton. A short road-walk followed by an even shorter field section returns the walker back to Killerby.
