This must rank as one of the loveliest walks that I have done for some time; the parkland surrounding Levens Hall and the stretches along the River Kent are particularly fine. The route is well-signposted and the terrain not difficult, being mostly limestone pastures. The walk is almost level and the lanes used are very quiet.

An extremely pleasant walk, which we actually did the other way round, following instructions from the Footprint leaflet. Some interesting industrial heritage en route, too. There is a bit of noise from the A road but it is constant so easy to tune out.
