The longer walk starts from Hannafore Point, with its scenic view over the famous Looe Island as we walk along the seafront promenade. As we approach the mouth of Looe River we see more and more of the beaches and then the town. From the promenade we have a short section of road before descending steps to the riverside walk along the east side of Looe River and Harbour. The shorter version of the walk would start from one of the pay car parks in this area and reduces the walk by up to 1.5km. Following the footpath under the bridge, we go past shops and through a car park to rejoin the riverside and pass into attractive, deciduous woodland. 2km through the woodland we emerge onto the small country lane from Watergate (small detour is possible to this waterside hamlet). Passing farms and with views over the countryside, we stay on this quiet lane after crossing the Looe - Polperro road and eventually descend the steep hill past quaint and picturesque cottages back into East Looe and from there, back to our transport.
