This easy to follow walk starting from the historically interesting market town of Richmond soon descends to the River Swale, where the route follows the meandering river downstream to intersect the extensive ruins of Easby Abbey. From here lane- and field-walking through undulating countryside takes the walker to the village of Skeeby. Further pleasant lane- and field-walking follows, before the route passes through the landscaped Aske Hall country estate that includes a grandiose stable block and a large ornamental lake, as well as the imposing Aske Hall. The last lap of the walk visits a wood and passes through Richmond Golf Course for a pleasant final walk through Richmond to return to the car park.

Did this walk on Saturday and it's actually just a fraction over 6.5 miles. That said the instructions are excellent and it's just a lovely, lovely walk.

Fabulous walk, with clear and correct instructions throughout. Note that on 25th June 2014 parking charge for the whole day was £4. Thank you Alan!
