This pleasant walk from the Cornish seaside village of Seaton takes us along the beautiful Seaton Valley and award-winning Nature Reserve with its tranquil wildlife lake, where there is ample opportunity to catch glimpses of the varied wildlife, flora and fauna.
Leaving the valley, we climb high into bluebell woodland and around a recently opened (2006) section of woodland. Dropping down into the valley again, we follow the 'Otter Walk' alongside the river (the sharp-eyed may spot a brown trout), to the hamlet of Hessenford for a well-earned pub lunch.
Our return journey leads us back through the nature reserve, where dragonflies can often be seen hovering over the reed-edged lakes, before returning to Seaton.
There is a bus service back to the start from Hessenford if required, which would reduce the walk to about 5km.
